About This Chapter
Several hours before Erwin turns himself in to the faculty, the students are gathered on the mountain for a welcome field trip. The teacher tells the students to make sure they have their boxed lunches packed and that they do not stray from the designated areas. He tells them that he has been teaching iron will for twenty-seven periods and that his lunches are empty for the first time since he arrived at the university. He asks the students if they would like to say something to the Titan's about their lunches, but they refuse to do so. When he tries to explain that he was surrounded by sweets from the moment he entered the university, the titans see him as an enemy. He tries to tell the students the truth, but the students refuse to believe him. He begs them to come forward and tell the truth about what happened. The only ones who are angry with him are the students. He says that if he resigns, he will be able to show the true color of his heart.
