In this short scene, we are introduced to a young man who has just graduated from high school and is about to embark on his senior year of college. He has fallen in love with one of his classmates, and he asks her to marry him after he graduates. The girl, however, refuses, saying that she will not accept the proposal without a ring. The two of them agree to get married during their break from school.
