About This Chapter
The narrator arrives at the university and is greeted by the professor, who tells him that the students have lost their passion for one another. The professor tells the narrator that he used to be one of the first students to arrive at the school, but that he and his friends have all become "second-year" college students. The narrator tells the professor that he will get it off his hands, and that he is so lazy that he does not want to move. He asks the professor if he is taking a shower, and the professor tells him he is. He then asks the narrator if she is meditating, and she replies that she is. She then asks him if he has fallen asleep, and he tells her that he has already finished his work. She says that she wants to get married to him, but she will not say yes if he proposes without a ring
