The narrator wakes up and thanks his wife for waking him up. He tells her that he's finally "awake" and thanks her for making him feel better. She tells him that she's so sorry that she doesn't have time to do anything for her brother, who calls her "crazy" whenever he wants her to do something. She says that her brother's "serious and smart" and that it was hard for her to be nice to him. The narrator says he'll make dinner for her tonight. She asks if she can talk about the topic of the day, which is breakfast. He says he can't get ready for it because he feels like he might overdose. She apologizes for being late and says that she hasn't been doing any housework either. She thanks him for waking her up and says she'll be back soon. She's glad to see him, because she'd tried to go back to work but couldn't. He notices her and notices how happy she is and how much fun she is having. He always notices her with his "flutter" , which makes her feel better after a good night's sleep.
