In this short scene, we learn that Hirohito has been taken to the hospital, where he is being treated for a heat stroke. He tells us that he and Deryn have had sex, but that he has bitten Deryn's neck as a result. Deryn tells him that she will help him with the Betrothal money if he chooses to make her his mate.
