In this short scene, we learn that Akari has fallen in love with shinji, and that they are going to be married soon. As they are about to leave, Akari notices that his grandfather is not at the dance, and he wonders if he will accept them after all. He tells Akari that he fell in love not with a son from the daido family, but with his own father. He says that from now on, he will live with him.
