The narrator wakes up in a dream. He's thirsty and needs water. He tells the narrator to get back to sleep. He asks the narrator if he can talk to daigo. The narrator tells him that daigo doesn't think he's useful to him, and that's why he wants to talk to him. He wants to know if daigo thinks he can give him a serious answer. He says that he used to cheer the narrator up when he was a kid, and now he wishes that he were a grown-up. He gives the narrator his hand and tells him to hold it. He also says that when daigo came to pick up the girl, he was relieved to see her again. He reminds the narrator that she's an adult now and that she needs to stop treating him like a child. She says that if she wants to be treated as an adult, she should stop acting like a kid. She tells the story of how, when she was a little girl, she'd hide out her mom's yelling at her when something bad happened. Now, she says, she would go hide out in the mountains and yell at her mom again. She's glad that she found the girl and took her back to her home.
