In this chapter, we learn that the narrator and his childhood friend are having sex on their first day of living together. The narrator tries to comfort his friend by saying that they will have time to get over their first night of sexual intercourse. He tells his friend to kiss him and to hug him. He then tells her to whisper to him that it is a special day and that he should thank her for the present. She does not resist, however, and they kiss and hug and rub and rub until they are "this wet already" .
