In this chapter, Tommo explains how he came to call himself "Bambi" because he thinks he's reliable. He's never been cared for by anyone, and he doesn't know what it's like to be "protected" by someone. He tells us that he has a wonderful mother, and that she's always been willing to make difficult choices, even when they're not the best ones. He explains that the world is a place where you can learn how to make the right choice, but you can't always make the best one.
