Edmund asks if the princess from France is better than him. He's wearing the dress he picked for her. He asks if he wants the kingdom to go back to war with the neighboring kingdom. Edmund says he doesn't know. He says he's beautiful, elegant, and pure. He also says that no one knows that he is a cute girl in private. Some members of the Senate think that a woman like Edmund should not be on the throne. Edmund tells him that someone proposed that his brother, Duke Kent, marry the princess of France so that Edmund's unmarried uncle will inherit the throne and become the new king. Edmund is not sure if he can accept this plan.
