We learn that Edmund suddenly fainted and was examined by a doctor, who found no signs of illness. Edmund's brother, Duke Avis, and his sister, Anne--whom he calls his "crown princess"--went with him to investigate. They discovered that Edmund was a member of the same royal family as Avis and Anne, and that they were both gifted with elemental magic. Anne promises to help Edmund regain his health.
