The next morning, Mr. Linyu sends an e-mail to Mr. Sunray with the results of his research into Linyu's past. The e-mails reveal that Linyu has worked for a few small fashion companies, but that she has never been very good at fashion design. She has graduated from a fashion design college, but her products seem to have been designed by someone else. The narrator tells the story of how Linyu took her sister and her mother into the Mos' family, and became the wife of the family instead of a nanny. He wonders how she raised her daughter to be so good, and wonders why her mother left her so much for her. He tells the narrator that he has helped Linyu to choose a venue for the launch of her new product, but he has forgotten to ask him if he will be there. The next day, the narrator announces that he is a new designer, and he has hired four female artists to advertise his products.
