In this chapter, Ling Xiu delivers a series of soliloquys in which he tries to convince the humans to return to their senses. He tells them that they are dishonest, and that he will not sit idly by and wait for his death. He says that a string of strange codes has attacked the country's intelligent systems, and the government wants them to explain the source of the codes. If they don't, he says, they will only enrage the code and uprise chaos in this new world. He reminds them that when they tamed chaos with their matrix architecture, the conscious entity that they created was born. They need to get back to their bodies, otherwise, their efforts will be futile.
