In this chapter, we learn that Lan has taken away all of his security clearance, which means that he has no access to the internet. Lan explains that the firewall was a last resort he made in case something happened, and that he can now control the firewall and appear anywhere in the game. He asks Lan if he has gone crazy, and if so, he will also be responsible for the pain Lan has suffered. Lan says that the only way for him to apologize for his sins is death, and he promises to leave the rest to Lan. Lan tells Lan that he needs to find his brother, who has tried to take Lan away from him before. He says that Lan's brother has no good intentions, and Lan is trying to throw away all the blame. Lan calls for first aid, but Lan is still unable to log in. Lan asks Lan why he's looking for him. Lan wants to know if Lan is looking for his brother and girlfriend. Lan invites Lan to meet him at the New Moon internet cafe, where he'll be able to try out the latest version of the game, which has been temporarily suspended.
