The officers are suspicious of Dodo, so he tries to hide it by showing his gratitude to his servant. After they enter the capital, they'll go to the emperor's palace and explain what happened to the concubine. If they don't come out, he'll enter the palace to find out what's going on. He'll tell the emperor what happened and then come back to explain to him what happened. He tells the foster father that he's glad to see his daughter is safe and sound. The foster father tells him that his daughter was reprimanded by the emperor for a trivial matter and died. The father is mourning his daughter's death, and he worries about his position in the afterlife.
