The next morning, Guyu brings Zhezhi back to the Ming camp. Guyu tells him that he has been kicked out of the Ming army and that he will have to return to his own home. He tells Zhetze that he knows how hard it is to be kicked out, but that they will be able to go back to their homes one day. They go to the town ofjiangnan, where Guyu is staying, and Guyu asks where Zheze is from. He asks if they have been talking about him becoming a concubine in the emperor's palace. Zhetz says that he does not want to stay there, but Guyu says he did not mean to offend him. He says he will help them take revenge on Dodo no matter what, and that the reason he refused to leave Ming camp is because of Dodo, not because he did anything to him. The narrator says that it is very likely that Dodo is not long for the world, so Guyu overheard him saying that he is asking spies in Ming camp to kill Dodo
