About This Chapter
The next morning, the innkeeper tells Dodo that the inn has caught on fire. He also tells him that some people from the prince's residence have come to ask the innkeeper for a reward, but the innkeeper refuses to accept it. Dodo asks what he has done to his sister, and she replies that she is dead. He tells her that he has made an order to kill her. She has turned him into his "bravest brother," and he asks her what has become of him. She replies that killing her was what he could do to help him, and he shuts up. He thanks his brother for letting him understand two things: first, that he would not know how he would feel if he lost his sister; and second, that she has indeed died. He asks his brother why he waited until now to kill his sister. He says that if he really wanted to, he would have killed her already, and there are other reasons for him to do so. When he finds her, he will explain everything to him naturally.
