The next morning, Li and Ming decide to separate their army into two groups, one to go to the city and the other to go back to Songjin. They figure out that the imperial guards are delivering food supplies, and they can easily ambush them. They also figure that the guards have filled a dozen carts with guns, and that they're trying to lure them to rob them, and then kill them with the guns. They're only a few miles away from the city, and the guards are pretending to head there. Ming says that if he ever finds out who the thieves are, he'll "skin him alive" .
