This chapter is all about how stupid chen is when she realizes that she's supposed to go back to Manchuria with Dodo. She can't figure out how to get back to Mingguan without him. She tells him to go away, and he tells her that if he ever gets his hands on her again, he'll show no mercy. He tells her if she wants to stay in Mingguan, she should come to him. He says that he's willing to let Dodo go if she wishes to stay. He warns her not to believe him, and says that if she does want to stay, he will take care of it. She says that she doesn't want to be captured, and that she won't be able to come back if she stays with him.
