Back at the palace, the emperor scolds cheng wang for acting so weird. He tells cheng that he's acting weird because of the marriage between him and Ming. Worried that he might be lying, cheng gets up and tells the emperor that he only met Ming once and that it ended before Ming even met him. The emperor says that Ming did not play dirty to get him to come to the capital, and cheng says Ming was just like a lowly singer from Ming's hometown. He says Ming rejected him because he was a commoner, not a famous singer. Ming says that he can't keep all the characters in the palace all the time, so he'll return soon.
