About This Chapter
This chapter opens with the sound of soldiers rushing toward the front lines. The soldiers are shouting at each other, "Linyu, hold tight!" . The narrator tells the audience that the soldiers are clearly coming for them. He says that they have missed a great opportunity to gain supplies. He tells the soldiers that they will be scolded by the emperor if he hears about this. He asks the soldiers what they are happy about. They tell him that they fought hard in the early stages of the war at Songjin and that if it weren't for the white flag clans, they would have been sent back by the Ming army. However, the traitorous general of Songjin surrendered to Hoseason. Hoseason is so proud of this that the narrator has to go and check it out. He notices that the beggar is welcomed by Hoseason himself. The beggar is not an ordinary beggar, he says, and Hoseason seems to be judging him by his figure. He squeezes the beggar and tells him to shut up. The prince asks the narrator to tell him what will happen after seeing Hoseason bullying ake.
