This chapter opens with a discussion between the two lords about the events of the previous night. The first lord asks if there is already a story about what happened. The second lord wonders why the viceroy has forbidden anyone to get in touch with marshal wu, and why the marshal has gotten himself seriously injured. The two lords then discuss the situation at hand. The viceroy had ordered his men to break the prisoner out of prison, and now that the prisoner is still in bed, the situation is even worse. They need to send more soldiers to keep watch over the two men, and the second lord says he will assign someone to do so. He asks if it is really worth it to help him stay. The third lord asks what the heck is the matter with the lack of energy, and he wonders if there will be enough energy to push the prisoner to death before it is too late.
