After three years of being unemployed, Victor finally gets a job as a prostitute. He's so happy to be back in the public eye that he's even more excited about his upcoming role as a supporting character in the upcoming season of "The Mysteries of Casaubin." He tells the audience that he had always dreamed of being on stage and chasing his "dream under the spotlight." But what happened next is out of his "expectation." He says that he has been "tortured" by the executives of his agency for the past three years because he refused to perform any sexual favors. He tells us that his career "hit the bottom" as a result of his refusal to do any favors. The voices in his head reminded him of his nightmare and intensified his fear of the "dark." At this moment, Madame Bovary shows up. She tells Victor that she liked his talent, but that she doesn't want him to work for her anymore. Victor tells her that he will ask his manager to get her a role in the new season of the show. He apologizes for the mistakes he made. He says he wants to stand by his wife's side "proudly." He adds that he is her son and heir. He wants to marry her and spend his life with her. He admits that he isn't good enough for her. "Women say that I'm your favorite son," he says, "because it literally means 'upcoming separation.'" He explains that his mother kept him because he brought "good reputation" to the family.
