About This Chapter
Master Lao and Senior Brother Ming are worried about each other's safety. Master Lao reminds Ming that he's no match for the evil master. Ming reminds him that Master Lao has taught him well, and that he should keep up his good work. Ming points out that Senior Brother Ling is clearly the best disciple of the generation. He says that he betrayed Master Lao, and now he is reaping the fruits of his treachery. Ming tells his sister to take him down the mountain and bring him medicinal herbs. Ming says that his father warned him that if he didn't bring them back before dark he'd be killed. He asks Ming to take the girl to the mountain, and Ming tells him to return within fifteen minutes. He tells Ming to alert the black mist, which is coming from the plague, and to get out of the way. He warns Ming that if they get infected, they'll have to report the incident to the leader of the sect, and he'll be punished for it. The black mist is spreading fast and the villain is in danger, Ming says. He's afraid that even if he has spiritual power, it's still dangerous for him. Ming asks why Ming would risk his life for the village and the attendant disciple. Ming replies that someone who leaves his fellow disciple is not worthy of being his disciple. He orders Ming and the village to pack their bags and go immediately.
