In this chapter, we learn that sea beasts are rare and that those with soul attacks abilities are rare. The captain of the ship tells us that he has marked the location of a million year old sea beast, but the beast was strong and injured him before he could get close enough to it. The fish that he thinks is the beast is a human-faced fish, and its inner elixir has a healing power that can help one resist the demon's heart. The two men decide to go to the sacred land, the "lengyan" , and kill the beast. As they go, they learn that in ancient times, legendary warriors were at half-god rank, but no one wrote about what had happened to them. The sacred land is a place where even demi-gods cannot survive, and even the emperor has to go there. They arrive at the "marked location," and the beast must have known they were there, because it is a soul attack. They decide to attack it, but they must be careful not to get hit by its beams.
