Two days later, Ling is still in Beiming, and he is desperate to reach the top of the mountain, where the sacred maze has promised him protection for the next ten years. He is enraged at the fact that the sacred palace hasn't responded to his pleas for help. He wants to kill his enemies, but he can't because the valley is too close. Ling finally arrives at the top, and is overjoyed to see the seal on the stone steps.
