In this chapter, the young man is introduced to the "sacred maze palace" , which was established by the descendants of the former emperor, Emperor Ming. The young man asks to be taken to the top of the "qingcheng mountain" to find out the whereabouts of the emperor's family. He learns that the family of emperor Ming has disappeared in one night, and he has to go to Mingmu city to find their whereabouts. When he finally finds the family, he is shocked to learn that the four heavenly emperors rank warriors have besieged him. He tells the warriors to keep their distance and to cripple him first. He also tells them to try to lure the warriors away from him, but they refuse to do so. He then tells them that he has waited years to find a man with the characteristics of liu lang, and that he will be able to do the same today.
