In this chapter, Pan-juan and his friends discuss the recent arrest of Zeng's mad dog, which was accused of corruption. Pan tells his friends about the singing competition at the university, which is going on right now. He introduces his boyfriend, Feng, and tells him to put on the "tag" that he has made for him, so that when he enters the auditorium, he'll be able to call him later. He also tells Pan that he needs to put his phone on vibrate so that he won't disturb the other students in the hall. He then tells Pan to tell his friend, the beautiful and talented singer, to come to the back of the hall and recite a poem. He tells her that he's here without any joy or tears, and that he doesn't want her to think of him or think of her not at all.
