In this chapter, the demon huanhuan tells the story of how he came to be with his brother, goro. He tells the tale of how goro's mother, hone onna, was raped and tortured to death by the same bandit who killed her son. When goro was seven months old, the bandit wanted to kill his mother because she was pregnant. When she refused, he cut her flesh and broke her bones and tortured her until she died. Goro swallowed her poison and became a demon.
