The next day, the two men go to the mental hospital where their mother was staying. The doctor tells them that they will have to stay there for at least a week, during which time they will be able to go home. The two men tell each other that they are going to celebrate their father's birthday, and that their father has come to see them. The father tells the men that he is not there to talk about anything, but that he wants to speak with them. He asks the men to go back to the hospital, but they refuse, saying that they have nothing to discuss. The men agree to go, and the father gives the men his share of the inheritance.
