In this chapter, we are introduced to Caixin's father, who is quite lonely. Caixin tells us that everything has happened too suddenly, and that there are still a lot of people waiting for him to deal with. He tells Caixin that everything he did was for her good, but that he will not let Caixin get it either. He asks Caixin if there was another woman between Caixin and him, and Caixin answers that there was, but Caixin says that if Caixin had told Caixin earlier, things would have turned out differently. He adds that Caixin loves Caixin, and he doesn't want Caixin to ruin his family's love for him. He sends Caixin a series of messages, asking him to bring back ulla and complaining that she didn't bring her phone. He also sends a message asking Caixin about the whereabouts of the other woman, and then he admits that he took Caixin away that night because he wanted to figure out what Caixin was up to. He then sends some people to find out who she is. He hopes Caixin will protect ulla during this period, because getting so many other people involved isn't a good thing.
