The narrator apologizes to Fasa for interrupting his plans to visit him. He tells him that he will be away from home for several weeks and that he is worried that something will happen to ulla while he is away. He asks if she really cares about her until he returns. The narrator tells Fasa that he does not have a friend, and that his roommate, Kui, is looking for a job. He says that he took a detour today to buy ice cream from his favorite ice-cream shop, but when he realized that he did not have any friends to share the ice cream with, he decided to stay home and eat dinner alone. When he wakes up, he realizes that Fasa has been hiding in his room and that Kui has been looking for work. He realizes that it is too late for him to regret his decision to stay and eat alone. He wonders why Fasa is chasing after him, and wonders if she recognizes him. When the narrator realizes that he has been reported as a suspicious man by the news, he feels that he must have caught the underwear thief.
