In this chapter, we learn that the story of the Amazon girl and the prince begins with her accidentally arriving in the city. Her father is a zoologist, while her mother is a botanist. She was rescued by the Amazon people and raised as a member of their tribe. Her name is Cai-Xiao, and she and her brother, Cai-Teng, were adopted from an orphanage in China when they were children. The narrator explains that the two of them can still love each other even though they are brothers, because they are family. Cai-Ting asks his brother to show his sister around, so that she can get used to their new home.
