The narrator and Nelly are walking home when Nelly notices that the guy she's with is talking like he's walking home. Nelly thinks that's because they haven't had a chance to be alone together in a while. The narrator tries to get Nelly to hold her hand so that she can talk to the guy and get his attention. She's worried that if she doesn't, he'll be disappointed when they get home.
