The narrator wakes up to find a dirty yellow duck in the middle of the night. He tells himself that he has something important to tell , and that he's going to have to leave the house to answer a call. He's shocked to find that she's been avoiding him for a whole day. She's upset that he might have fallen in love with someone else, and she wants to stop talking to him, but she can't stop herself from smelling the foul smell of the duck's mouth. The kitchen staff only creaks late at night, and it's birthday time. The birthday girl claps, and the ghost of her birth appears. The ghost steps out of the kitchen and runs away.
