In this chapter, the narrator reflects on the length of time that has passed since the end of the first term of the school year. He notes that the students have been studying all along, but that they have not been able to do so as much as they would like. He tells the students that cha Suyeol, a teacher at the school, has been studying with him all day long, and that he has finished the exam. The narrator then tells the story of the three students who have won the most money during the first week of the term, and how they looked exhausted during the exams. After the exams are over, life returns to normal, and the students are excited because they feel like they have won something important. After a week, the students receive their report cards, and they are very proud of themselves.
