The night before the school carnival, the students have a cooking contest and an outdoor sports contest. The students decide on their team names, but Suhun refuses to help them. He tells the students that he is self-sustaining and that they should just decide what they want to do with their lives. Suhun's friend, the next-door neighbor, ignored Suhun when he said hello yesterday, and Suhun told him not to waste his life on drawing comics. The chapter ends with Suhun saying that his family would be the only support he could rely on if they could help him.
