In this short scene, we learn that Roxane is in love with a man, but she is not sure whether or not he is the man she loves. Roxane tells us that she has come to visit Roxane because her aunt has asked her to do so. She tells Roxane that her aunt wants to give her a chance in life, but that she will never be able to do that because she is a "gay" woman. She asks Roxane if she can help her "disguise" her love for the man, and Roxane says that she can.
