The scene opens with a conversation between Lingwei and Zeng-Liang. Lingwei tells Zeng that he has heard that everyone is watching the play and that Zeng has been complaining that he is hungry. He asks Zeng why she is acting so strangely. Zeng tells him that she used to be a co-worker of Lingwei's and that she is now famous. He tells her that she does not need to rely on anyone for her success in the industry and that he will prove his acting ability in the play. He also tells her to stop making up stories about him and his younger sister and to clean up her face. He then asks the production crew if they will have a question for the readers for answers to. The production crew says that they will do so and that they are very grateful for the question. The scene ends with a soliloquy by Zeng in which he says that one should always be with someone who truly loves him.
