The chapter opens with a flashback to the story of "Ceremonial" , in which a young man named "rourou" is taken away from his family by his master, "feng jinyao" . In this scene, the master tells the young man that he will take care of the child, but that he must present him with a detailed plan of how the child will be taken care of. The young man agrees to the plan and tells the master that he has been working with "crews" that do not have strict rules. He tells the boy that he can go back home twice a week, but he will not be able to do so because the crews do not allow him to return home at all. The boy is starving, and the master and the young woman are celebrating the success of the exam. The men drink wine to celebrate, but the young women are too drunk to drink. The master tells them that they have already taken the child away from him, and that they are going to sell the child as a "child slave"
