The novel ends with a kiss between Nelly and Count Dracula. Nelly is so happy that she's going to stop writing novels. He's testing her patience, she tells Nelly, and she'll have to wait until she can take him. Nelly's so happy about this that she starts to cry. She says that she feels like her heart is beating harder than it's ever been, but she can't stop thinking about her love for Nelly.
