About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that those who accompany a person against their environment often come with "supreme risks" . For example, one might be killed by a human strangulation , or one might die of a heart attack while accompanying a person who is struggling against his or her environment. In this case, the person accompanying the person might also die. In fact, the narrator tells us, some people who accompany people who are struggling against the environment are at risk of being killed. The narrator also tells us that some people die when they accompany someone who is trying to escape from the environment. He adds that it is not uncommon for a person to be killed while accompanying someone who has been "struggling against one of one's own environment." The narrator then tells us about a man who was "stragged gagged" , and then died. He also says that the person who accompanies the person against his environment may also be killed if the person does not leave the environment safely. This is the first time the narrator has heard of the death of a person accompanying someone on a struggle against his own environment.
