In this chapter, we learn that Fushi is offering a 1,000 gold reward for his capture. He tells us that he will not be his friend, but will go with him to save people. He says that he must retain his freedom so that he can do what he thinks is right. He also says that his son was kidnapped because he had carved an image of him. If he had paid the ransom, the kidnappers would release him, but he doesn't have the money to do so. Fushi says that they will continue their journey to other villages and towns like this starting the next day. They bring him some water and he tells them that he thinks he has done a good job. He asks if they should let the people see his arm. They say that they just hit them hard, but that a lot of the people have seen the form. They decide to go to the Kargal district and use the arm to take care of the injured. They also decide to leave three guards there to prepare themselves for fushi. They want to find people who understand them.
