"Cleaning up after trust" is the title of this chapter's opening soliloquy. It's a bit of a tongue-lashing, but it's also a warning to the guy that he's about to die. He's not used to pain, he tells us, and he doesn't seem to have a plan. He says he vaporized the "knocker" so they couldn't find the core of his father's body, which means they can't kill him. He also tells us that they aren't done fighting yet. They're still alive, he says, and they're all going to decide whether or not to live or die on their own. He tells the guy to be thankful that he was there, because he'll see him again. He asks if they were showing him how to get to where he is now, and if they knew the way. They say they didn't know the way, but they'll bring him food and water if he needs it. He thanks them for showing him the way and says he was looking for immo, but he ended up back where he started.
