In this chapter, we learn that Caius isn't going to be a part of the family anymore. He's cleaned himself up, and he's going to go with Pocoa to visit some of her friends. Caius introduces himself as a friend of his brother's, and introduces himself to the other girls. He introduces them as "iris" and "joaan" , and says that they were both wards of Caius when they were younger, and that they've been friends ever since. He tells them that she's not allowed to talk to the prince anymore, and she tells him that she used to be so happy when she was a ward that she stopped making up stories about how she was fat and ugly. She tells Caius that tomorrow they're holding a "salute and thank you" parade for him, and Caius is so happy that he'll be able to take care of her. She's sorry that she didn't say that she was sorry for Caius's death, but she doesn't understand why Caius would want her to stay at the castle forever.
