In this chapter, we're introduced to a new character, a little girl named "Koeda." She's just turned one, and she's in love with a boy named "Tsugu" . We're also introduced to the girl's teacher, a man named "Masumune," who's a little obsessed with the girl. We learn that Masumune and his friend, the boy, are on their way to celebrate the new year at a shrine in the town of Togethe , which is a shrine to the goddess of new year. The girl is psyched to see her friend, but she also wants to know what he's been up to on New Year's Eve. She asks him about his day at the shrine, and he tells her that it was a good one. He also tells her about his love for her, and how he'd always been interested in her.
