This is a locked chapterChapter 9: Masamune and His Girlfriend
About This Chapter
The narrator apologizes to Masune for not telling him sooner. He says that he tried his best to be a good doctor, but that he was too busy with school to see him. He asks Masune if he would like to go home with him, but he says no, saying that he is too busy. The narrator asks if she is the only one excited about the match, and she says that she is, but she is not sure if they are the only two excited about each other. She asks him if he is excited about meeting her, and he says yes, and they go to meet behind the gym. He tells her that he has a phone call, and that if she does not move fast, he will not be able to meet her. She tells him not to worry about her, as the lunch break will soon end. The two go to sit down, and the narrator says that they should eat furikake , or seasoning, over rice, and other things. He is surprised to find that they are eating meat, which he would not have guessed, because they are deli-cious. They go back to the gym, and when the narrator asks who is dating, Masune says she is his girlfriend, and not his girlfriend's friend. He explains that they just know that they love each other, but have not talked about it. He wonders why he needs to speak so politely to her, since it makes her sad, but the narrator tells him that he should just talk to her as usual.
