In this chapter, we are introduced to Hiroshige, who has just returned from the mini-test. He tells us that he has not been feeling well since the test, but that he feels that he needs to get closer to his crush, Masune, because he wants to know him better. He is shocked to learn that Masune's second-year class has won the boys' basketball tournament, and he is even more shocked when he learns that he is wearing the same jacket as Masune. He asks Masune why he is not wearing the jacket, and Masune tells him that it is because he has been helping him, and that he should try to do so in his own way. As he is about to leave, he sees Masune playing in the men's basketball tournament. He wonders why Masune is playing in such a big game, and wonders why he feels he can do anything in the game. When he hears Masune talking to him, he is relieved to see that he does not want to do anything for him.
