About This Chapter
In this short scene, we learn that we're introduced to a new character, who we'll call Chan. We learn that he's a student at the school who's obsessed with the idea of riding a bike. He's also obsessed with his hair, which he keeps tied in a cute little knot. He doesn't have a boyfriend, but he does have a crush on a girl named Koeda, whom he met at a party. We're also introduced to another character named San, who is also a student in Chan's class. We find out that he and his friend are having dinner together. They're eating a comic book called "Doraemon," which is a reference to a famous character from the comic book "The Princess Bride." We also learn that they're going to have to eat in front of the teacher, who'll be watching the test that's going to be given later in the day. As they eat, we see that the teacher has left the room, and Chan is worried about what's happened to him. He asks if he can go home, and the teacher tells him that he should go back to his room, where he'll have a chance to think things over.
