Second Uncle is in a bad mood. He apologizes for hitting Evie, but doesn't say that he's going to beat her. He says that Evie's head is bandaged and that it's just an accident. He's glad that Evie brought him flowers, because cats are really bad. Evie says that she's staying with her now, and that they're even now. She forgives him and says that he shouldn't have a grudge against her, and they can start over. She's so smart and strong that she can't believe that Evie only shows her vulnerable side in her dreams.
